Connecting Companies House
Complyax integrates with the Companies House API to speed up client onboarding and firm profile setup. This integration automatically pulls registered details, company numbers, and statutory deadlines using the Company Registration Number (CRN).
This integration is configured at the firm level by a Firm Administrator.
Setting Up the Integration
To connect the Companies House API:
Navigate to Settings
Go to the Settings page from the left navigation panel.
Enter the CRN
Locate the Company Registration Number (CRN) field under the Firm Profile card.
Trigger Companies House Lookup
Click Fill from CRN to lookup details using the Companies House API. The system fetches:
- Registered Company Name
- Registered Office Address
- Company Status (e.g. Active)
- Contact email and phone number (if registered)
Verify and Save
Verify the imported details, click Save & Verify, and complete the OTP verification sent to your registered company email.
Key Benefits for the Practice
Once Companies House connectivity is active:
- Auto-Fill Onboarding — When adding a new client in the Clients Directory, entering their company name or CRN pre-fills the profile.
- Statutory Calendar Sync — The Compliance Calendar automatically imports statutory filing deadlines, including the annual Confirmation Statement (CS01) and Annual Accounts filing targets.
